Virgin Australia opens new Brisbane lounge, Premium Entry

Virgin Australia’s much-loved Premium Entry concept is now available at Brisbane Airport, along with an expanded and significantly overhauled domestic lounge.

Premium Entry serves as a fast-track straight from Brisbane's valet parking area into the lounge via private and dedicated security screening lanes, instead of having to schlep through the terminal itself.

As in Sydney, Premium Entry welcomes business class guests along with Velocity Gold, Platinum and The Club members travelling with only carry-on bags, even when not using the valet service.

If that's you, simply follow the clear 'Premium Entry' signs to the far end of the terminal's exterior...

... and enter through the doors also marked 'Premium Entry' on the right (not 'terminal entry' on the left):

There you’ll be checked in by the friendly staff and can clear security through one of two private screening points, before ascending the escalators and walking straight into the new lounge.

It's a significantly larger lounge than the one of years past, with a dedicated espresso bar capable of producing up to 10 cups of coffee at a time during the busy morning rush...

... space for over 400 seated guests, and a completely new food and beverage area with Peroni on tap and a good selection of beer, wine and cider.

The latest round of updates joins other improvements that progressively opened throughout the year, including a new terminal-facing entry and reception area...

... a central skylight woven into Virgin Australia’s signature leaf roof pattern to provide plenty of natural light...

... a quiet business zone in the far corner with computing and printing facilities...

... cocktail tables with high stools, plus heightened laptop working benches with a slight privacy shield between you and your opposing seatmate:

The full and completed Virgin Australia Brisbane lounge is expected to be officially unveiled to travellers next week.

Looks great.  VA have just about "lapped" Qantas with the quality of its lounges in BNE, SYD and MEL.  Hopefully QF will use some of its profits to give all of these location some long overdue refurbs.

Totally the new Virgin lounges. If only Virgin offered the same level of beverage selection and put spirits into their lounges.

The food is still a long way behind Qantas, but the design is better, and you can't beat the direct lounge access from the street.

I wonder if there's a business case for a Domestic Business Lounge for VA similar to that with QF. As a VA plat and QF gold that flies both airlines domestically in business, the VA lounge does not compete with QF's biz lounge. You reckon VA could pry over more customers over if they had a domestic biz lounge for their own platinums and J class flyers? Would give an extra reason to make a swap over.

Borghetti said "no" to that a while back, it wouldn't be a primary attractor of new business (vs. frequency, punctuality etc.). Would rather have priority entry/boarding than a J lounge.

"V" has some great lounges - Agree with the recommendation of spirits. Qantas really has one up there.

Another win for John B. Thanks for bringing back choice to Australian skies. QF panders to the big end of town, overcharges the loyal mun and dad holiday market offers second rate products and does nothing for those of us who run a business with without huge buying power.

No.  As stated in the article "Premium Entry welcomes business class guests along with Velocity Gold, Platinum and The Club members travelling with only carry-on bags".

Is this domestic or international?

Used the Lounge again just two days ago inbound from PER at 510am. Lounge was open and access available. No hot breakfast until 630am.... but other foods ie toasts were an option. Lounge didn't seem any bigger than two weeks prior seeing for the first time. Just this morning on my return flight home I tried the Premium entrance, swift and easy. Front counter to ask about my seat was excellent and security was quick. Up the escalater and Pancakes I had! Had a great feeling too, jazzy tunes and empy with maybe a dozen flyers... perfect!
